The most delicious item from the Hapsburg Empire was
the Tipsy Song from the Johann Strauss operetta, A Night in Venice,
charmingly sung and acted by mezzo-soprano Vivienne Powell.
-Fred Blanks, Sydney Morning Herald
Vivienne Powell ... conveyed the elegance and charm
synonymous with Vienna in a well chosen selection of solos. Ms Powell's
comic rendition of the Tipsy Song by J. Strauss was convincing and
but for the sparkle in her eye one could have believed she was in no fit
state to sing again.
-Meg Matthews, Sydney Morning Herald
Gilbert and Sullivan's Iolanthe, Zenith Theatre,
Sydney. "Vivienne Powell's Queen of the Fairies was a refreshing departure
from the stereotyped formidable, interpretations developed by generations of
Contraltos of Wagnerian proportions. She brought warmth, wit, elegance and a
touch of sultriness to the role."
-Live Entertainment Magazine
Mezzo-Soprano Vivienne Powell showed her voice at its
best in an aria from Mignon by Thomas.
-Fred Blanks, Sydney Morning Herald
Gilbert and Sullivan's The Mikado, Zenith Theatre,
Sydney. "Vivienne Powell as the evil Katisha is like Pandora's box
unleashed. I had nightmares afterwards!"
-Live Entertainment Magazine

enjoyed your excellent performance as soloist in our recent concert with the
Gosford Philharmonia. We do hope that we will again have that pleasure in
the future. A Stunning Performance!

We all agree that the choir seems to lift its standard
when sharing the stage with such a marvellous singing voice. Thank you for
